I was inspired to become a cardiologist during my early training at the University of Maryland, where cardiologists were making the most advances in medicine as compared to other specialties, and I wanted to be a part of this. Today, cardiology continues to allows us to diagnose cardiac disease with the most advanced technology available.
To benefit from these continuing advances, laypersons need to know that they must seek treatment early for cardiac problems. ~Gary M. Lattin, MD, FACC, FACP
